THE BEER HUNTER
Six of the Best for Our Readers Beer king Michael Jackson, who is also an acknowledged authority on whiskey, says he has no one favourite tipple. He explained: "It has got to be the right beer or whiskey for the right moment. It all depends on where I am in the world, what time of day it is and what mood I'm in. It also depends whether I'm relaxing with my friends or having a meal.
But he DID agree to nominate his favourite Irish drinks for Irish Sun readers.
1. Redbreast Irish Whiskey: "I love this particular brand for its big, fruity, spicy, complex flavour."
2. Porterhouse Oyster Stout: "This stout has a lovely tangy flavour and is much more full-bodied than the stouts being produced by the main breweries."
3. D'Arcy's Dublin Stout: "This beer is produced in the heart of the capital by the Dublin Brewing Company and it has a very enticing smoky texture."
4. Porterhouse Red Ale: "I haven't tried all the new Irish ales yet but I've been very impressed by this one. It has a very big flavour."
5. Guinness Foreign Extra Stout: "This is the one Guinness exports to tropical countries. It's stronger in alcohol and has a lovely winey flavour."
6. Bottled Guinness: "It has a little bit of yeasty dryness that you don't get in draught Guinness."
