CHATEAU DE LA MOTTE
Burgundy, France

Chateau de la Motte is located in a small village in Burgundy. This is in the heart of the Beaujolais and White Burgundy/Chardonnay region and is the border region between the Duchy of Savoie and the Duchy of Burgundy.

The Chateau de la Motte, situated on a 70 acre estate, dates back to the early 1700’s as can be verified by its vaulted cellar. The chateau was rebuilt in the 1800’s and the roof is made of slates designed by the creators of the roof of the Chateau de Versailles.

The chateau is located in a highly historical area and today is best known for its 10,000 miles of fantastic fishing rivers and its equestrian trails. This region is also known as one of the country’s most important gastronomic and wine regions. Paris can be reached by TGV in one hour and thirty-three minutes and skiing is a two hour drive away. Three golf courses are within a half-hour drive.

The chateau stands in the middle of the estate; a view of its lake can be seen from its main rooms. The 70 acre grounds are beautifully planted with more than 200 varieties of plants and trees, many older than 200 years. Chateau de la Motte is in impeccable condition and not in need of any repair.
